Starry Morning Raisin French Toast


  • 3 eggs
  • 2/3 cup (150mL) milk
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp (2 mL) cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 12 slices Sun-Maid Raisin Bread
  • 1/3 cup (75 mL) of your favorite jam
  • Directions

    WHISK together eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon and salt in a shallow dish.
    SPREAD jam over half of the Sun-Maid Raisin bread and top with remaining slices to make sandwiches.
    CUT each sandwich into a festive shape with a large cookie cutter. Reserve remaining bread for another use. Dip each shape into the egg mixture on both sides.
    COOK in batches, in a buttered non-stick skillet, over medium low heat until golden, about 3 minutes per side. Dust with icing sugar and serve with warm maple syrup.
