Orange Drizzle Cake

A show-stopper to bring applause from young and old alike.


  • 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup dairy sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon grated orange peel
  • 1-1/2 cup Sun-Maid Natural Raisins
  • Citrus Glaze:

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup orange juice
  • Directions:
    HEAT oven to 350° F.
    GREASE and flour a 10-inch tube pan.
    COMBINE butter, sugar and eggs; beat until light and fluffy.
    COMBINE flour, baking powder and salt; stir into butter mixture alternately with sour cream.
    STIR in orange peel and raisins.
    POUR batter into greased pan.
    BAKE for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
    COOL 10 minutes.
    REMOVE from pan and place on wire rack.
    COMBINE glaze ingredients; blend well.
    BRUSH hot cake with glaze; cool.

    Makes 12 servings.
