Cinnamon Raisin Oat Squares


  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup Sun-Maid Natural Raisins
  • 1/4 cup apple jelly*
  • Cinnamon Icing:

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons milk
  • Directions:

    HEAT oven to 350° F.
    GREASE an 8-inch square pan.
    COMBINE oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and baking soda; blend well.
    STIR in butter; mix well.
    RESERVE 1 cup crumb mixture for topping.
    PRESS remaining crumb mixture into greased pan.
    COMBINE raisins and jelly; stir in reserved crumb mixture.
    SPRINKLE over crumb layer in pan.
    BAKE in center of oven for 30 minutes or until edges are just golden.
    While warm, CUT into squares; cool in pan.
    COMBINE all icing ingredients; blend well.
    DRIZZLEover bars.

    Makes 16 bars.

    *Apricot jam or orange marmalade may be substituted for apple jelly.
