Naturally-sweet raisins make this standby dessert extra special.
- 3 to 5 (about 1-1/2 cups) tart, thinly sliced apples
- 1 cup Sun-Maid Natural Raisins
- 2 tablespoons water
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup rolled oats
COMBINE apples, raisins and water in a 9-inch square or round baking dish.
MIX flour, brown sugar and cinnamon in a medium bowl.
CUT in butter using a pastry blender or fork, until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in oats.
SPRINKLE oat mixture evenly over apple and raisin mixture.
BAKE for 40 to 50 minutes or until lightly browned.
SERVE warm or at room temperature with ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.
