Apple Crisp

Naturally-sweet raisins make this old standby extra special.

Ingredients

3 cups (3 to 5 medium) peeled, thinly sliced tart apples
1 cup Sun-Maid Natural Raisins
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup plus 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour, divided
2 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2/3 cup butter or margarine
1 cup rolled oats

Directions:


HEAT oven to 375 F.
In 9-inch square pan, COMBINE apples, raisins, sugar, 3 tablespoons flour, water, lemon juice and cinnamon.
In a large bowl, COMBINE remaining 1 cup flour and brown sugar.
Using pastry blender or fork, CUT in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
STIR in oats.
SPRINKLE oat mixture evenly over apple and raisin mixture.
BAKE for 40 minutes or until lightly browned.
SERVEwarm or at room temperature with ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.

Makes 6 servings.
