Raisin Molasses Gems
- 3/4 cup butter or margarine softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1 egg
- 2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup Sun-Maid Natural Raisins or Sun-Maid Baking Raisins
COMBINE butter and sugar; beat until well blended.
ADD molasses and egg; blend well.
COMBINE flour, soda, cinnamon, cloves, ginger and salt.
ADD to molasses mixture; mix well.
STIR in raisins.
COVER and refrigerate until firm.
HEAT oven to 350° F.
SHAPE dough into 1-inch balls; roll in sugar.
PLACE 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheets.
BAKE at 350 F for 10 to 12 minutes or until set.
COOL 1 minute; remove from cookie sheets. Cool on wire racks.
Makes 3 dozen cookies.
